Ten-Institution Grand Chinese
New Year Celebration a great success 03/20/07 The unprecedented 2007 New York Ten-Institution Grand Chinese New Year Celebration, held jointly by CSSA and the Chinese students and scholars associations of seven other institutions in New York, turned out to be a great success. The organizing committee of the celebration has implemented many new ideas. The hosts and hostesses took the roles of the legendary figures in the famous Chinese novel "The Journey to the West" to connect the various performances of the celebration into an interesting story on "searching for the Pig Zhu Ba-Jie (the figure of pig in the novel) in the Year of Pig". More than 700 audiences and guests attended the celebration and enjoyed the performances. The celebration received coverage by more than 30 American and International media, including People's Daily, Sinovision, Qiaobao, Sina.com. The celebration serves as an excellent opportunity for spreading Chinese culture and building friendship and cooperation among students and scholars and the overseas Chinese in Greater New York area. 前所未有的纽约十校联合春节联欢晚会取得了圆满的成功。 此次晚会 推陈出新，独具匠心，在节目的主持和串联方面运用了新的手法。晚会以猪年寻找猪八戒为线索，几位主持人扮演名著<<西游记>>里的人物。他们诙谐幽默的对话和表演将各个节目生动自然地衔接为一体。 晚会吸引了700多名来自社会各界的观众，精彩纷呈的节目使高朋满座的礼堂充满了欢声笑语。包括人民日报，美国中文电视台，侨报和新浪网在内的三十多家媒体对此次晚会进行了报道。 此次晚会积极地传播了中华文化， 促进了纽约各大高校中国学生学者们的交流，充分体现了海外华人华侨、学生学者的团结、合作、奋发、友爱的精神风貌。
