2008 "Olympic Cup" Eastern American Inter-Institution Table Tennis Tournament
2008 "奥运杯" 美东高校乒乓球友谊联赛

CSSA would like to proudly announce the 2008 "Olympic Cup" Eastern-American Inter-Institution Table-Tennis Tournament.

"Transcend barriers, cultivate friends." The goals of this year's tournament are to celebrate the 2008 Beijing Olympics, break through institutional barriers, improve the communication and promote friendship among all student and alumni associations on the American east coast. More than 30 teams represeting universities and organizations from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Upstate New York, Long Island, and NYC will participate in the tournament. The following VIPs will also be present:

Counselor, Education Section, Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in New York

George Braithwaite
Former Vice President of the US Association of Table Tennis, who participated in the diplomatic Ping-Pong tour from US to China in the 1970's, which paved the way for the establishment of formal diplomatic relations between USA and China

Zhe Zhou
Representative, Permanent Mission of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations

Yan Zhou
Consul, Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in New York

为迎接2008年“北京奥运会”，促进美东各高校中国学生学者联谊会的交流与合作，丰富各高校学子业余文化生活，增进友谊，康奈尔大学医学院，洛克菲勒大学，斯隆癌症中心，特殊外科手术医院四校联盟中国学生学者联谊会，定于7月12日在纽约国际乒乓球训练中心举办2008"奥运杯"美东高校乒乓球友谊联赛。届时将有来自包括马萨诸塞，康涅狄格，新泽西，宾西法尼亚，德拉维尔，纽约上州，长岛以及纽约市近三十所院校和校友会组织的代表队参赛。
