我们非常荣幸的向大家通报，在温哥华刚刚结束的国际奥委会投票决议中，中国南京成功获得了“2014第二届青年奥运会”的主办权！

众所周知，在由大纽约地区20余所高校中国学生学者联谊会共同主办的，以华夏之光为主题的“2010大纽约高校联合春晚”的几个月筹备过程中及晚会当晚，我们组委会一直在为“南京申办青奥”活动进行呐喊和广泛的宣传。在整个晚会的筹备和进行中，我们先后征集到包括联合国人居署高级官员、知名中外学者、侨团领袖、国际友人及广大海外学子等各界人士数百个签名并第一时间转寄给国际奥委会和南京申奥委。http://xw.longhoo.net/2010-02/09/content_1347864.htm
“华夏之光”2010大纽约高校联合春晚是美东地区唯一对“南京申办青奥”进行广泛宣传的大型活动，得到了南京申奥办的积极响应和支持。江苏省委常委、南京市委书记朱善璐先生为此专程发来贺信，对“华夏之光”2010大纽约高校联合春晚的成功举办表示祝贺，并对广大海外学子关注和支持南京申办青奥表示感谢！
此次南京申办“2014第二届夏季青年奥运会”取得圆满成功，也包含了“华夏之光”大纽约高校联合春晚组委会每一个工作人员、志愿者和关心和支持南京申办青奥的海外学子的贡献。通过我们的大力宣传，让更多的海外学子、华侨和国际友人了解、关注和支持南京申办青奥，再一次向世界充分展现了广大海外学生学者，华人华侨关注祖国发展与强大的爱国热情。我们真诚地希望，通过此次20余所高校联袂举办春晚，能够积极促进大纽约地区各大高校中国学生学者的交流与协作，增进友谊，增强凝聚力，充分展现广大海外学子团结、奋发、合作、友爱的精神风貌，时刻为中国喝彩，为华夏添光的勇气和决心，这正是我们晚会主题“华夏之光”的精髓所在和最佳诠释，并远远超出晚会本身的意义。
我们再次向南京成功申办“2014第二届青奥会”表示祝贺，并感谢来自20余所高校的每一位“华夏之光”大纽约高校联合春晚组委会工作人员、志愿者和参与者，正是由于大家的积极参与和精诚团结的协作，才使得很多梦想成真！

We would like to proudly announce that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) today elected Nanjing, People’s Republic of China, as the host city for the 2nd Summer Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in 2014 during the 122nd IOC Session held in Vancouver, Canada.

As you have known, one of the highlights of the 2010 Greater New York Grand Chinese New Year Party held on January 30, 2010 was to support Nanjing’s bid to host the 2014 YOG. During the preparation for and in the course of the party, in addition to introducing and showcasing Nanjing’s efforts to bid for the 2014 YOG, we have collected hundreds of supporting signatures from the organizing committee members, guests and audiences, including friends from the United Nations, renowned international scholars and leaders of overseas Chinese cultural groups, as well as students and friends from countries all over the world and sent these signatures to the IOC and the Nanjing YOG Bidding Committee.

The 2010 Greater New York Grand Chinese New Year Party is the only large event held in North America to support Nanjing’s bid. The Party Secretary General Mr. Shanlu Zhu specifically addressed a letter to the organizing committee to congratulate the success of the party.
